INTRODUÇÃO

Resident Evil 2 remake is a reimagining of one of the most acclaimed games of the series (and of the entire PS1 generation). After more than 20 years, Capcom finally heard the prayers of his fans and remade the game from the ground, giving us a terrifying yet amazing experience that pays homage to the very roots of the survival horror genre.

PASSO A PASSO

Step 1: Assisted run with both characters under both scenarios while getting all the collectibles, combat and boss related trophies and exclusive character trophies.

Start the game by selecting either Leon or Claire and the Assisted difficulty. The main reason to start in this difficulty is to focus on getting to know the game, the location of key items and gathering all the collectibles, which will be of utmost importance for the next step. Additionally, in this difficulty the enemies are weaker, your life regenerates from the Danger to Caution state automatically and the Tyrant walks slightly slower and does less damage, which will allow you to explore with a little less anxiety.

With respect to collectables, you can refer to the Additional Resources section for a detailed guide on where to find them.

Finally, if you feel that you have learned what you needed about the game, you can combine this step with the next one to decrease the number of playthroughs. While this is highly doable, it is recommended that you beat the four scenarios (A and B) and decide which one you feel most comfortable with in order to go for the Standard Rank-S runs.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Welcome to the City of the Dead
Path to the Goddess
Never-Ending Rain
Hack Complete
Hide and Seek
A Great Need for a Shower
A Hero Emerges
A Heroine Emerges
Broken Umbrella
That’ll Hold ‘Em  (Missable)
Eat This!  (Missable)
Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Gun  (Missable)
Bon Appétit  (Missable)
Hip to Add Squares  (Missable)
Customizer  (Missable)
Vermin Extermination  (Missable)
First Break-In  (Missable)
A Vault-like Mind  (Missable)
Gotcha!  (Missable)
Zombie Roundup  (Missable)
Like Skeet Shooting  (Missable)
Keep Their Heads Ringin’  (Missable)
Hats Off!  (Missable)
Treasure Hunter  (Missable)
One Slick Super-spy  (Missable)

A Waist of Space  (Missable)
With Time to Spare  (Missable)
In the Blink of an Eye  (Missable)
Complete Vermin Extermination  (Missable)
Lore Explorer  (Missable)

Step 2: Beat the game with both characters with a S-Rank
In this step we will focus on beating each character’s story scenarios (Doesn’t matter if its the A or B ones) with an S-Rank under the Standard Difficulty.

Unlike other Resident Evil games, the only variable to measure the ranking is time, so you can abuse the save feature (both manual and automatic) and heal without any problems.

It is recommended that you get the S-Rank with the character and under the scenario that you feel most comfortable with (hence the reason to play the 4 scenarios before going through this step) and get the infinite ammo Samurai Edge Pistol as a reward for this. Once with it, you can use it to obtain the S-Rank with the other character without much difficulty.

While you can try to combine this step with the next one, it is highly recommended to get the infinite ammo pistol first before venturing into the Hardcore difficulty.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Leon “S.” Kennedy
Sizzling Scarlet Hero

Step 3: Beat the game with both characters under the Hardcore difficulty
In this step, we will focus on beating the game with each character in the Hardcore difficulty.

This difficulty is quite complex, the enemies resist much more, deal way more damage and the Tyrant is faster and stronger, so it is extremely advisable to obtain the infinite ammo pistol from the previous step before even attempting this task. Additionally, in order to save your game, you must gather ink ribbons and use them on typewriters, so you have to be pretty efficinent on where and when to use them.

Finally, it is recommended that you try to get an S-rank with one character and get the infinite ammo LE5 SMG as a reward for this and use it to beat the other character’s Hardcore run. While you can choose any of the four scenarios, it is recommended that you choose Clarie B to start with, since the destructive power of the grenade launcher is superior and you can kill 4G with only the infinite ammo pistol and the minigun.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Hardcore Rookie
Hardcore College Student

Step 4: Cleanup runs: No Healing, No Item Box and less than 14.000 steps

If you didn’t get any of these trophies before and since you have learned what to get and what not during your previous runs, go back to the Assisted difficulty and finish the last specific runs under any character’s scenario.

You can easily combine a No Healing run with a less than 14,000 steps one; however, it is recommended that you leave the No Item Box run alone since you will have to do a lot of backtracking and you will not be able to use any infinite ammo weapon.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Frugalist
Minimalist
A Small Carbon Footprint

Step 5: Beat The 4th Survivor extra mode scenario

Finally, select Extra Mode and choose The 4th Survivor scenario. finish it, to earn the last trophy and the coveted Platinum!

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Grim Reaper
Raccoon City Native

GUIA DE TROFÉUS

 Raccoon City Native

 A Heroine Emerges
Complete Claire’s story.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

Self explanatory. You will earn this trophy by combining two items together, either any pair of herbs, gunpowder or key items necessary for your progress.

 That’ll Hold ‘Em
Use Wooden Boards to board up a window.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Scattered throughout the Police Station, there are Wooden Boards which you can use to barricade the windows of the first floor. Although hard, you can technically miss this trophy if you do not use them before entering into the Sewers.

 Eat This!
Counterattack with a sub-weapon.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

You will definitely get this early during any character’s playthrough. While having any sub-weapon equipped (knife, grenade or flash grenade) you will be able to counter an enemies’ attack by pressing the  button.

Although hard, you can technically miss this trophy if you unequip the knife Marvin gives you and never pick up another sub-weapon during the rest of the game.

 Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Gun
Defeat an enemy with a knife.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

To obtain this trophy you must kill an enemy with the knife subweapon by holding  and attacking with . It is recommended that you try this trophy in one of the first enemies lying on the ground so that you are more likely to kill them before they get up and attack you.

Although you will have several opportunities to do so, this trophy is technically missable.

 Bon Appétit
Shoot the grenade you fed to an enemy.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

To earn this trophy, you must counterattack an enemy’s attack (preferably a zombie) while having equipped a grenade or flash grenade as sub-weapon. As soon as you do this, aim to the grenade and shoot (for a better result, try this during the assisted difficulty and with the aim assist turned on). The grenade stays a few seconds in the enemy’s mouth before it explodes on its own, so you’ll have enough time to do it.

A good farming point is at the beginning of any character’s B scenario, as you can get a grenade inside the first room you enter and there are plenty of zombies lurking outside.

Although you will have several opportunities to do so, this trophy is technically missable.

 Hip to Add Squares
Increase your inventory slots.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

You will obtain this trophy the first time you increase the slots of your inventory by getting any of the six hip pouches found throughout the game.

The earliest place you can get this is under a Safe at the Police Station 1F-West Office room during any character’s A scenario. Check the “A Waist of Space” trophy description for the location of all the six pouches. Also, refer to the Additional Resources for a collectibles video guide.

Although hard, you can technically miss this trophy if you don’t pick up any of the pouches.

 Customizer
Customize a weapon.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

You will be able to find weapon custom parts during your playthroughs (mostly inside Safes), which you can combine in order to upgrade your weapons. You will earn this trophy the first time you do it.

The earliest place you can get a weapon part is inside Leon’s desk at the Police Station 1F-West Office room during any character’s A scenario. Please refer to the Additional Resources section of this guide to learn how to unlock it.

 Vermin Extermination
Destroy a Mr. Raccoon.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Check the Complete Vermin Extermination trophy description for details on this trophy.

 First Break-In
Open a dial safe.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Check the Master of Unlocking trophy description for how to get this trophy.

 A Vault-like Mind
Open a portable safe.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

During any of your playthroughs, you will be able to find two portable safes which can be opened by pressing a specific (random) button sequence. You will get the trophy once you open any of them.
These items can be found in the following location inside the Police Station.

  1. 2F- Shower Room (under a different location during B scenarios)
  2. 2F – Linen Room

If you prefer, here is a video showing you how you can accomplish this:

 Gotcha!
Defeat Stage 2 G using the crane only once.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

In order to obtain this trophy, you must defeat “G” during your second fight by using the crane with the container only once. It is recommended that you try this trophy in the assisted difficulty, since G will be weaker, and you will be able to stagger him more easily.

As soon as you fall to the platform with the container, run to the control panel and activate it; after that, start attacking G with all your arsenal, trying to focus on his right arm’s eye to deal more damage. When you have done enough, G will kneel on the floor for a few seconds, use this opportunity to deal some extra damage while you take your distance and prepare to evade the next set of attacks.

A good indicator for his health is the eyeball on his arm. Wait until it goes from yellow to dark orange (which should be around three to four falls), and ince he kneels again run to the control panel again and call the crane, G will fall into the abyss and you will get this trophy.

Don’t forget to make a manual save after solving the chess pieces’ puzzle at the Sewer’s Monitor Room!

 Zombie Roundup
Kill 3 enemies at once with a sub-weapon.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

To obtain this trophy you must throw a grenade by holding  and pressing  while it is equipped as a sub-weapon, and eliminate three enemies at once.

A good farming point is at the beginning of any character’s B scenario, as you can get a grenade inside the first room you enter and there are plenty of zombies lurking outside. Another good place where you can attempt this is after using the Power Panel Parts outside Ben’s Cell during Leon’s scenario (A or B), since many zombies will come out of the cells.

Finally, there is a good location at the sewers, between the bottom and lower water way areas. Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

Although you will have several opportunities to do so, this trophy is technically missable.

 Like Skeet Shooting
Shoot a zombie dog or a licker out of the air.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

In order to get this trophy, you must shoot a Zombie Dog or Licker while it is jumping to attack you. It is recommended that you try this trophy with the Zombie Dogs, since the damage you will receive if you miss will be far less than with a Licker. Also, for an easier time, try it on Assisted Difficulty with aim assist turned on.

In the video below, I found an interesting place with a bug that can help you get this trophy practically without any risk.

 Keep Their Heads Ringin’
Paralyze a licker’s sense of hearing.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

You can get this trophy by either throwing a flash grenade at a Licker or countering one of its attacks with while you have this sub-weapon equipped (you do not need to shoot the grenade after that).

The first opportunity you will have to do it will be at the Police Station-2F West Storage Room, after solving the Maiden Statue puzzle.

Although you will have several opportunities to do so, this trophy is still technically missable.

 Hats Off!
Shoot Tyrant’s hat off his head.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Halfway through your Police Station playthrough (during A scenarios) and after extinguishing the fire on the helicopter, a new enemy, the Tyrant, will start chasing you through the station. To earn this trophy, shoot him in the head and take off his hat.

You can easily accomplish this while playing on the Assisted difficulty and by turning the aim assist on.

 Treasure Hunter
Using the photo hints, find 2 hidden items.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

In order to get this trophy, you must first find the Roll Film, which is found in one of the tables at the Sewer’s Workroom and return with it to the Dark Room of the Police Station to reveal the places where you will find the two hidden items.
Once you reveal the film, go to the S.T.A.R.S. Office (2F) and the Press Room (1F) to find both items.

Below is a video that shows you how to return from the Workroom to the Dark Room , get these items and accomplish this trophy. It is not a perfect video since it was made during my first run, but it will give you a very good idea of the way you should follow and the places where both items are located.

 One Slick Super-spy
Use only the EMF Visualizer to complete Ada’s gameplay segment.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

In order to get this trophy, you will have to finish Ada’s short segment without using her handgun (or any subweapon) during any of Leon’s scenarios (A or B).

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

 Young Escapee
Escape the bedroom within 60 seconds during Sherry’s segment.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

In order to get this trophy, you will have to escape the first bedroom area of the orphanage during Sherry’s short segment in less than 60 seconds under any of Claire’s scenarios (A or B).

To do this you need to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible, get the scissors, go to the wall to use them and leave this room by holding down the  button to cross over.

The puzzle is randomized for each player; however, there is a workaround, you can solve it (taking notes of exactly which block you put in which position), quit the game and select continue. This will make you restart this segment while the puzzle remains the same.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

 Master of Unlocking
Open all of the safes and locks in the game.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Throughout any scenario, you will find 3 Safes and 5 Locks that you must open by finding the specific clues under either files or films. The specific location of them is described below:

Safes

  1. Police Station 1F – West Office
  2. Police Station 2F – Waiting Room
  3. Sewers – Treatment Pool Room

Locks

  1. Police Station 1F – West Office
  2. Police Station 1F – West Office
  3. Police Station 2F – Shower/Locker Room
  4. Police Station 3F
  5. Sewers – Control Room

Please refer to the Additional Resources section of this guide for the correct combinations to open them and a collectible guide with their locations.

 A Waist of Space
Expand inventory slots to max.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are six pouches scattered through the game and in order to get this trophy, you must obtain all six of them during a single playthrough. Be aware though, that Hardcore mode has only three hip-pouches, so it is not possible to get this trophy on this difficulty. The specific location of them is detailed below:

  1. Police Station 1F – West Office (inside the Safe)
  2. Police Station 3F – West Storage Room (at the Main Hall during B scenarios) – Not available on Hardcore
  3. Underground Facility – Operator’s Room (Inside a Locker) – Not available on Hardcore
  4. Police Station 1F – Safety Deposit Room (Need both Spare Keys)
  5. Upper Sewers – Workroom – Not available on Hardcore
  6. The Nest – Nap Room (Need Signal Modulator)

Finally, if you prefer, you can check the Addition Resources section of this guide for a collectible video guide with the location of all the hip pouches.

 With Time to Spare
Defeat Stage 4 G with 4+ minutes left until detonation.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

4G is the final enemy of Claire’s A scenario and in order to get this trophy, you must get to the train and defeat him with a spare time in the counter of more than 4 minutes.

It is recommended that you try this during the Assisted difficulty, since the enemy is weaker and deals less damage from his charge attacks.

Use your best weapons and the minigun you get in the room before the fight, and try to aim at the eyes you see in the chest while going around the train evading his attacks. Try not to attack him in another area, especially in the back, since you will waste ammunition and time.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

In the Blink of an Eye
Defeat Super Tyrant with 5+ minutes left until detonation.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

The Super Tyrant is the final enemy of Leon’s A scenario and, in order to get this trophy, you must get to the train and defeat him with a spare time in the counter of more than 5 minutes.

It is recommended that you try this during the Assisted difficulty, since the enemy is weaker and deals less damage. Use your best weapons and try to aim to the chest while going around the stage evading his attacks. After you deal enough damage, you will be able to equip the Rocket launcher and deal the last blow.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

 Lore Explorer
Read all of the files.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are 58 files scattered throughout the 4 scenarios (Claire and Leon’s A and B scenarios) and to in order to get this trophy, you must find and read all of them. Please check the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the files.

A positive point is that once you get them, they are instantly recorded to your Records and you do not need to get them back if something happens

 Complete Vermin Extermination
Destroy all Mr. Raccoons.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are 15 Mr. Raccoons’ figures scattered throughout the 4 scenarios (Claire and Leon’s A and B scenarios) and in order to get this trophy, you must shoot all them. Please refer to the Additional Resources section for the location of all Mr. Raccoons.

You will get an indestructible knife subweapon for finding and shooting all 15 Mr. Racoons, which you can use in any of your subsequent playthroughs.

 Leon “S.” Kennedy
Complete Leon’s story on “Standard” or “Hardcore” with an S rank.

Check the “Sizzling Scarlet Hero” trophy description below.

 Sizzling Scarlet Hero
Complete Claire’s story on “Standard” or “Hardcore” with an S rank.

Choose the Standard difficulty (or Hardcore) and start a new run under any scenario (A or B).

As was mentioned before, unlike other Resident Evil games, the only variable used to measure the ranking is time, and, in order to get an S-Rank, you must beat the game within the following timeframes:

  • 3 hours and 30 minutes for the A scenarios (2h 30m under Hardcore difficulty) and
  • 3 hours for the B scenarios (2h under Hardcore difficulty).

While these times seem to be a little tight, they are not that hard to beat (specially under the Standard difficulty) and you will actually end up with a much shorter time. Anyway, here are some tips that could help you get through it:

  • Plan ahead. Focus on the objectives and avoid too much backtracking.
  • Be efficient with your weapons and ammo. Shoot the zombies once in the head and evade them when they are staggered, do not waste time trying to kill them, they are practically sponge for bullets.
  • You can skip the hip pouch found in the Safety Deposit Room, not only it exposes you to the Tyrant and the Lickers, but you will have to venture to some rooms that are not necessary to beat the game.
  • Use the Additional Resources section of this guide to quickly solve the puzzles.
  • Abuse the save feature and divide your playthroughs in segments. Try to make them better each time.
  • If you die. Never select the option to continue, because for some reason this option keeps adding the time (and steps) from your last save until your death. Either Load a manual save or quit the game and select continue.
  • As was mentioned before during the roadmap, try to get the S-rank with a character to get the infinite ammo pistol and then use it during the next character’s S-Rank playthrough.
  • Pause the game as often as you want to plan and/or watch any of the videos posted below as reference. Time does not run if you’re on the pause menu!

Finally, here are two videos that can be used as a reference during any of the scenarios (Leon or Claire). Unfortunately, I could not record my runs, but I obtained the corresponding permission from these players to use the following videos for the guide. You can even use them for “A Small Carbon Footprint” trophy!

 Hardcore Rookie
Complete Leon’s story on “Hardcore” game mode.

Check the “Hardcore College Student” trophy description below.

 Hardcore College Student
Complete Claire’s story on “Hardcore” game mode.

This difficulty is no joke and will be your biggest challenge when it comes to obtaining the platinum trophy.

While all the tips described in the Sizzling Scarlet Hero trophy description can be applied to this difficulty, it is highly recommended that you use the infinite ammo pistol you get for achieving an S-Rank during the Standard difficulty. Additionally, keep in mind that you can no longer save an infinite amount of times, so you will have to efficiently manage the ink ribbons you find throughout the game (around 20+). Additionally, Hardcore runs have three less hip pouches, so keep that in mind when planning your walkthrough.

Finally, and as was mentioned before during the roadmap, try to get S-rank with a character to get the infinite ammo SMG and then use it during the next character’s playthrough. You can check the Additional Resourcessection for a boss-strategy video.

 Frugalist
Complete the game without using a recovery item.

This trophy is more frightening than it really is, since you can do it during Assisted difficulty and while using any infinite weapon you have unlocked so far.

Below is a live streamed video for my first Leon B run which can serve as a reference to obtain this trophy. Additionally, you can use it for the “A Small Carbon Footprint” trophy, just do not get the hip pouch from the Safety Deposit Room and you can get this trophy too without too much troubles.

 Minimalist
Clear the game without opening the item box.

As with the trophy before, this is more frightening than it really is. Choose Assisted difficulty and obtain all the hip-pouches to increase your inventory, which will be focused mainly on weapons, sub-weapons and ammo.

While it is even possible to tie this trophy together with the Frugalist trophy, it is recommended to leave it for a single separated run since you will do quite a lot of backtracking. Additionally, do not forget that you will not be able to use any infinite weapons during this run.

Finally, here is a video showing you how to accomplish this withouth too much troubles:

Some tips regarding the video above:

  • Get all the hip pouches (Check A Waist of Space trophy description), this will be vital for your run.
  • Do not try to kill the zombies, shoot them in the head with the gun to stagger them and continue your way.
  • The same with Tyrant, evade him and continue. Do not worry if he attacks you, your life will regenerate itself.
  • Choose which weapons/subweapons you will carry (i.e, do not carry the three pistols with Claire). Also, choose between the SMG or the Spark Shot.
  • You do not need the Sewer Key! do not pick it up unless you want to return to the Police Station (I lost time trying to get rid of it)
  • Use all the key items until you can discard them.
  • Combine mainly high-grade gunpowder (white or yellow) with the normal Gunpowder. Acid rounds are prefereable to SMG bullets.
  • Save frequently and play in segments. Try to get them better each time!

 A Small Carbon Footprint
Take 14000 steps or fewer in one playthrough.

You can get this trophy during any of your S-rank , Hardcore or your Frugalist (No Healing) runs (You can check the video included in the Frugalist trophy description as reference).

To keep track on your step counter, pause the game and go to the Records section; within this, go to the last option called “A Small Carbon Footprint” to check how many steps you have accumulated. A good reference is to have less than 10,000 steps when you arrive at the Nest.

As with the other trophies before, this is more frightening than it really is and you will get it while doing the other runs.

 Grim Reaper
Complete “The 4th Survivor” extra mode.

In the 4th survivor extra mode, you play as Hunk, a code name for a Special Umbrella Agent who was the only survivor of his team after G’s attack.

To obtain this trophy, you must defeat the extra mode unlocked by defeating any B scenario, returning from the sewers to the police station through rooms infested with enemies.

In a similar way to how you faced the story mode, memorize each room and plan ahead each room what items and weapons to use. It is very likely that you will die more than once while you memorize all the rooms.

Below is a video I made showing you how to beat “The 4Th Survivor mode” in a little over 10 minutes.

Some things I recommend while attempting this:

  • Create shotgun bullets at the beginning, they will serve you well since they the shells have a spread effect and can kill the zombies with one shot.
  • Save your flash grenades and hand grenades for the police station. There will be many more places where you will be cornered.
  • Use your Magnum in the Lickers, they are the ones who will deal the most damage, use your shotgun and your pistol for the other enemies (in that order of preference)
  • Use a mixture of blue and red herbs when entering the elevator that takes you from the sewers to the police station. It will protect you for the next three rooms (including the first encounter with the Tyrant)
  • Do not fight the Tyrant! You will lose time, health and amunition. Evade him or stun him and keep going.
  • Use a flash grenade when leaving the West Office to stunt the Licker and use another one in the 2F before entering the Shower Room.
  • Attack the weak points of the plant enemies as you leave the shower room and evade them.
  • Upon entering the Waiting Room, wait a second before the opposite door opens and launch a frag or flash grenade to kill all the zombies.
  • Try to get to the courtyard with at least one subweapon in reserve.
  • Do not be discouraged, practice makes perfect

This section is set aside to provide you with the necessary tools to deal with this game in a better way and obtain all the collectibles necessary for the trophies.
